We are outgrowing our bjorn carrier and are considering buying a new one. DD 7 months and weighs 18lbs, so we aren't sure how much use we'll get out of a new one. How long did your LO allow you and/or want to be carried in a carrier?

Olive is 15 months and only 18 pounds now. We used the carrier until it got cold 2 months ago. We haven't been using it because it's too hard to get her dressed super warm and fit her in the carrier, otherwise I'd still be using it.
Charlie I stopped using it around 13 months because he was too heavy and hurt my back. I could only use it for like an hour or two max.

Cobi is 10.5 months and I definitely see us continuing use well past a year so I said 12-18 months... I know many parents who baby wear their toddlers - one mom even carries her 3 yr old sometimes!
I have a maya, moby and beco. For older kids I like the beco best.

We used our Ergo from infancy (with the infant insert) up til she was about 14 months.

9 months, 19 lbs and still using it but not for long periods though. We have an Ergo. I can see myself carrying him for a while longer. The Bjorn was short lived outside the house. We use it mostly indoor when he's fussy and doesn't want to be alone.

Still going at 12 months and 22 lbs in the Ergo. I wore him comfortably for about 2 hours both yesterday and the day before while unpacking my classroom. No back aches at all!
I only lasted about 2 months in the Infantino and 6 months in the sling. Wish I had gotten this one sooner!
I make sure to wear him out and about a few days a week, good workout I figure.

I wore Toddler Girl until 14 months when I got pregnant, and Mr SH still wore her for hikes for a few more months. Now we have an external frame carrier for her for hikes. Wonder baby is 11 months and I wear her in the ergo constantly.

I still wear LO in the Ergo daily. She's 10.5 months and 17LBS. I can see us using it until she learns to walk and doesn't want to be carried anymore.

13 months, 25 lbs, and we are still using the Ergo. I still use the front carry and it does not bother my back. I suspect part of that is because I have built up to this point if a randomnperson with my body type tries to wear him at 25lbs, it may bother them. At some point, I will need to switch to the back carry.
