It took me 7.5 weeks to get my period after my m/c. We tried that cycle and got pregnant. My OB had just said to wait until I had one normal period, which that one was. I'm almost 36w along now

My doctor said 3 months initially, but when I pressed her on it her reasoning was for emotional healing rather than physical

My doctor said it had more to do with how we felt emotionally than waiting a certain number of cycles. They said to definitely wait until the bleeding stopped, but after that, to consider if we were both physically and emotionally ready.

My RE didn't give me a time but she did tell me not to rush. It will be at least 7 post after the loss before we are going through a new treatment cycle. I really hope I'm pregnant again before my would have been due date.

Mine told me 1 month. You finish the bleed from your mc, then wait for your next period to come. Then you can TTC. That's what i went off of.

My doctor told me to wait one cycle after my natural mc @ 7.5 weeks (mainly so that they would know it was a new pregnancy and not a remnant of the miscarriage and also for dating purposes...which makes sense in retrospect because my cycle with the mc was about a week longer than usual). We waited until I had gotten AF to TTC again. I got pregnant that cycle and had a successful pregnancy.

Both my losses were very early, so my various doctors only ever suggested a month. I complained after my first loss, but the reasoning was good since I was starting a new supplement that needed to get absorbed for a while first (folate).

@simplyfelicity: A D&C scrapes your uterus, which thins it out. It makes sense to me that you would need a few cycles to recover from the D&C versus a natural mc.

Mine advised not to TTC during the m/c cycle. He said the next cycle insures everything is flushed out of the system.

My doctor advised waiting after our first cycle. We did and got a BFP right away, but that ended up being a chemical pregnancy.

@simplyfelicity: I am pretty sure my sister just waited one cycle after her D&C, but I will check with her in case it was 2. She got pregnant that cycle and had a successful pregnancy. She had been trying for maybe 8 months before the 1st pregnancy/D&C.

My doc said wait until I have one completely normal period, and then it's ok to try after that. He said it's moreso for dating reasons than anything else.
