My goal was at least a year, both times. With DD1, I had huge supply issues due to tongue tie diagnosed late, and stopped when she was 8.5 months old. I'm still nursing DD2, and she's almost 14 months. I'd like to be done soon, but she's still pretty adamant about nursing 2-3x a day. I can't see myself going very close to 2, but I guess we'll see.

My first goal was 6 months. Then 1 year. Then I started to think it would be nice to nurse 1-2x per day until she is 2 years old per WHO recommendations. She's 17.5 months and we are still nursing and mostly enjoying it but I don't know if we will make it to 2. Nursing a toddler can be hard.

My goal was a year, and we're at 14.5 months going strong! DS is showing no signs of self weaning, and I don't really want to force it right now, so we'll see what happens. I had the added bonus of going almost 10lbs under pp weight, so that was a very welcome side effect

18 months for #1 to self wean. I was ready to be done. Hoping to make at least a year with #2. I think my limit is 2 years - Id probably want to quit sooner, but he's likely our last so I might be willing to wait

So far I have been BF for 7 months. I'd like to go minimum a year, and ideally let my daughter self wean. I wouldn't mind BF for years. My only concern is getting pregnant again... I may wean early to grow our family.

13 months with both kids. I stopped to start TTC or I would have probably bf longer

I'm EPing but my goal is 1 year. I have been making smaller goals (3 months, 6 months, 9 months) to make it less daunting.

I plan to let her self wean. She's 13 months and primarily nurses only in mornings and evenings.

A minimum of one year, but I had hoped to make it to 2 years, which would also probably be my cut off point.
But we had to stop at 9 months due to weight gain issues.

Just responding because I know I'm a bit of an outlier, but maybe that will be reassuring to someone.
I nursed Ellie until she was 5 years and a couple of months. She self-weaned weeks before Lorelei was born. Lorelei just turned 3 last month and is still nursing. I plan to let her self-wean as well.
So cool reading all the different goals and stories.

I nursed my first until 13 months (my goal was a year) and my second until 16 months.
DD2 is 8.5 months and down to two sessions a day (although, still nurses twice at night). She's just very busy and loves solids so it seems like she'll self wean earlier than my first two LO's. I'll keep trying until a year.

I had no real goal....just to try it and go with it if it worked for both baby and myself. We had a lot of issues so I ended up EPing for 6 months.
For lo2 I will pump from the beginning and if I find EPing too stressful with a toddler at home I will switch to formula with no qualms

Goal was 6 months ebf. Made it to one year and now he is almost 13 months and nurses a few times a day. I'm trying to wean though!

We just made it to 6 months with no issues. I plan for at least a year, but mainly until one of us wants to wean.

16.5 months when DS self weaned. I'd like to nurse until at least a year with DD (halfway there almost!) and then until she self weans, most likely. I don't think I would nurse much past two though.

Were on month 7 and i honestly have no idea when we.will stop. He isnt a fan of solids and still nurses a.ton. i def want to make it to a year but i can see us going over a year, possibly into a couple years. Not sure what we (me and my lo) nursing journey will look like or what we decide.
