I hate pumping and I feel like it's causing me to cut short sessions that might be more productive if I just went 5/10 minutes longer. How long do you usually pump at work?

i usually pump until the second letdown--this can take a total of 15-20 minutes. i get pretty antsy waiting for the second letdown because it usually takes almost 10 minutes after the first letdown stops (so i'm just sitting there pumping with no output), but i started doing it because a few months ago my supply was dipping. sigh.

@edelweiss: that's my situation--second letdown takes forever!! I hate waiting for it. I need to be more patient.

i was pumping avg 10-15..then hit sort of a supply hit. so i lengthened it to 20-25 min and def got a sec letdown that help me boost my supply and keep up with LO's intake too. i eventually went back down to ten min sessions

I was just wondering the same thing! I feel like it takes me a long time to get set up and put things away, as I have to walk to another hall to the faculty break room (to the fridge) to pick up the bottles and parts and then walk back afterward to store the bottles and parts.
So I actually pump 20-25 minutes, just depending on how much time I have that day (I don't get a "set" pumping schedule, but getting undressed/redressed, walking to and from, putting on the pumping bra and parts...it's gotta be close to 35 minutes,

I usually pump 20-25 minutes at work (sometimes 30). Second letdown takes forever to hit for me and usually happens around the 20 minute mark (or later)! But I'm usually in the pumping room for 35 minutes unless I'm running late!

I pump for 8-12 minutes, max. I have a fast letdown and I have never gotten a second letdown, no matter how long I pump.

Are these times for a double electric? I only have a single and am getting worried about how much time I'm going to spend pumping. At home I usually pump 10/15 mins a side.

15 mins for my AM pump. And 20-25 for my PM pump. I don't really pay attention and normally when I check how much I have pumped after 15 minutes during my afternoon session, I'm thinking "oh crap!" Then I end up waiting for the second let down and that normally gets me an ounce to an ounce and a half more.
