I used to wait 15 minutes before sneaking away but read it can take a newborn up to 20 mins before they fell into deep sleep.
How long do you wait before sneaking away from your sleeping baby? Does it take longer or shorter for your LO to fall asleep the older s/he got?

As long as her eyes are closed when I put her in her crib I sneak away immediately.

@regberadaisy: Same here. It's tough, b/c I just want baby to sleep... but I tend to err on the side of putting her down and leaving the room too early b/c I want her to learn how to sleep on her own. Sometimes that plan comes back to bite me though if she wakes back up and we have to start again from square one with rocking. Oh well.

@skibobrown: usually if I put her down and her eyes don't open we're good to go. There has been times where she'll wake back up in 15 minutes. If it's at night I usually can rock her for another 15 and she'll be good to go. If it's nap time forget it, she's awake!

@regberadaisy: Oh yeah... of course naptime is a whole different story. I'll do whatever it takes to get her down then, which often involves rocking in the carseat or going for a nice long walk!
