M is 8 months old and finally started getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth on Friday. She can scoot backwards and around in a circle but she hasn't figured out how to go forward yet.
How long was it from when your LO started rocking back and forth on all fours to when he/she started crawling?

@lawbee11: She's up on all fours??!! Yaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!! Go little girl!! how does she get up there? From sitting or from her tummy?
E is trying so hard but she just can't do it yet. She keeps getting into this position though..... the other day, she launched herself over the front leg (trying to get on all fours) but she faceplanted instead. I think it knocked her confidence a bit.

According to baby connect she got up on all 4's and rocked the beginning of August. But I just remember her doing planks then. She was army crawling by Sept (I remember cause then she was 6 months old). She was about 6.5 months when she started crawling for real.
So a month and half..

@Cherrybee: From her tummy. I really thought she wouldn't ever crawl from her tummy because she loves to lunge herself forward from sitting, but like your LO she kinda just faceplants 
On Friday she finally started planking then getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. I can tell she wants to go forward so badly!!

My LO has been army crawling for almost 2 months now and seems to have 0 desire to get on all fours to do it. She can army crawl pretty quickly now, and goes all over the room...so since her mobility issues are solved, I think she has no motivation!

@Anagram: Do you have laminate or tiles? Are you ever tempted to attach a cloth to her tummy so she can clean the floor as she goes?!

@Cherrybee: We joke about this ALL the time. We want to get her a little baby mop suit, so she can dust the hardwood for me.
We went opposite - K started army crawling, THEN getting up on all fours. She is just now (2 months later) trying to crawl on all fours, but she can go faster on her tummy, so she goes with that.

I think Jess has been rocking on all fours & planking for nearly 3 weeks! She's gotten close to moving forward but she mostly just scoots backwards & rolls around...I'm getting impatient!

DS was rocking on all fours for a couple weeks before he started crawling. It's the cutest/saddest thing watching them try so hard! M will get it in no time!

A was a late crawler at 8.5 mths and started rocking on all fours just a wk or two before he was crawling

LO army crawled first for about a week or so, then got up on all fours and started rocking after that. Within a few days, he was officially crawling.

@Cherrybee: Yes! She started crawling a few weeks ago. At first she looked drunk but now she's gotten really good at it.

Probably a month? 
Around 4 months LO started trying to get in crawling position. I think if she was bigger she would have started army crawling. At 5 months she was getting herself into crawl position and wobbling. Finally crawled at 6 and a half months. I think if she was older it would have gone more quickly though. She's picking up milestones (physical ones) more and more quickly now. The being on ALL FOURS wobbling about (I called it baby twerking) was definitely the final step before crawling though. I just had to get something for her to want to move to (one of our pugs, haha. She went right for her! And then the pug ran out and that was that haha.)
