Olive is starting a new school next week and naptime is one hour. At her previous daycare, it was 2 1/2 hours, so a big difference. I actually prefer the hour nap because it means she'll be more tired at bedtime and hopefully fall asleep earlier!
How long does your LO nap at daycare?

2 hours and i have been anxious about it since at home he was sometimes napping up to 3 hours in the afternoon. When he doesn't get his sleep, he is one cranky toddler!
2.5 hours would have been perfect! My LO is is the young toddler room, he is 21 months.

It's as long as they need / as long as they sleep. My LO (27 months) usually naps for right about 2 hours, but the other day she did over 3!!

He's in the toddler room at 18 months and nap time is 2.5 hours, though he rarely sleeps that long!

They let them nap how ever long. But the first one up wakes up everyone. She usually naps 1.5hrs.

They nap when they need to as long as they need to, but she is in the baby class. I think I remember hearing that naptime is 2 hours in the toddler class.

They'll let them sleep as long (or as short...) as they want (I think it's more a set time block in the Preschool class, but he's still in "Young Preschool). E usually hits 2 hours, give or take 15 minutes.

They nap as long as they want or need to. At our in home daycare naps are in a separate room with a video monitor. I think they are plucked out of the room as they wake up. LO naps 2 hours.

Nap time is at 11:30 until they wake up. He takes a pretty consistent 2.5 hour nap. As they wake up they take them away from the others for quiet play time.

2 hrs in the 2 and 3 year old room at DD's daycare. She often doesn't nap, so her teachers let her get up and read books after the others fall asleep.

i guess olive is older (almost 3), so naptime is shorter. she definitely is used to long naps, but i don't mind the short nap. she is always fighting bedtime!

@Mrs. Bee: They let them nap up to 3 hours, but whenever the first one wakes up, generally the others follow suit soon after. For the most part, she naps 1.5 to 2 hours .. that seems to be the average for her class.

Wow, that's a short naptime! Ours starts the nap process at 12:30 and 2:30 is the end of naptime. They have to wake up LMW every day! Such a shame since her naps are NEVER that long at home.

She's only 7 months so they still have on demand schedules, but generally every baby (the age range is 5 months to 16 months right now) is on the same schedule in that room - 2 naps that last 1-2 hours each.
At our daycare, they don't start limiting nap time until the 3's room. Up until then, if the child is tired and needs to sleep longer than the designated nap time, they allow them to.

@mrs. wagon: they had to wake up olive every day after a 2.5 hour nap, and sometimes they'd let her nap 3 hours. but she is not tired at bedtime so i'm hoping the shorter nap will help. she loves her naps on the weekend and always does 3-4 hours or even longer!

@Mrs. Bee: what time does olive sleep and wake up? I'd LOVE a 3+ hour nap time, but the longest I've ever gotten was 3 hours and I was seriously freaking out thinking she stopped breathing. I normally get 1.5 - 2 hours. soooooometimes 2.5 hours if she's seriously pooped.

@aegie: olive goes to bed around 9 and wakes up between 7-8 depending on if charlie wakes her up. her nap at daycare was from 1-3:30.
on the weekends when we're busy out and about, she usually doesn't nap until 2. but we almost always have to wake her up after 3-4 hours. both kids have always been long nappers though.
