Just curious to know how long it took to conceive after baby #1. I know it may sound so naive on my part but my 1st was fairly easy (conceived on 1st try) but trying for my 2nd isn't as smooth as I thought it would be.

We got pregnant with Olive in the first month. Shocked that it happened so easily because it took us two years with Charlie.

@mrsbee. Wow so glad it happened so quickly after your 1st! But wow to the two years for #1. Any tips on how you dealt with the waiting? I'm all about timing is everything but only if my heart listened to my brain.
@cupcakemama: so glad I'm not alone! I feel like my anxiety level peaks when it's time for AF to arrive.

Our experience was the opposite. It took quite a while to make baby #1. With baby #2, I got pregnant a month before we were officially TTC.

We haven't started ttc for #2 yet but I'm also worried it won't happen as quickly as before. I got pregnant on my second try, miscarried, then again got pregnant on my first try.

I was on birth control for almost 3 years after having #1 and I got pregnant within a few weeks of taking out my mirena.

For #2, started TTC in early Sept, BFP in late Oct.

@umlo: i actually had two miscarriages before getting pregnant with charlie, so i've been pregnant four times. i think i'm probably quite fertile.... i just had a problem with it sticking. the first two times i got pregnant it was the second month of trying, and the third and fourth times i got pregnant it was in the first month.
most moms i know generally conceived their second child much faster. i even have a friend that had her first through ivf and her second naturally.

@mrsbee: I've also heard the same. My sisters subsequent children were very easy for her but I know everyone is different. Here's to positive thinking!

I got pregnant on our 2nd cycle trying (I am only 11 weeks pregnant now), but I am hoping when it comes time to TTC baby #2 it happens just as quick...we got very lucky. We will probably start trying after LO turns 1 so that they will be (hopefully) 2 years apart.

The first time, it took us 6 months to get pregnant. The 2nd time, one month! It was way faster than we thought. We had planned on it taking at least 6 months or longer (like the 1st time). But nope, 1 month!

I needed to hear all these comments! I worry that it won't happen with #2. Our biggest hurdle is my age - I'm 40. (gulp). So we don't have a lot of time and have a self imposed deadline as well. Cross everything for me ladies!

We didn't try for the first--she was a surprise! We're not trying and not preventing for #2. I'm still nursing, but started my period so interested to see when I get pregnant again.

@Mrs. Bee: I've heard a lot of the same, and know several who had the first with lots of fertility treatments and struggles--and #2 and #3 were quick!

Lots of baby dust to you TTC #2 ladies. I have heard the same as previous posters - took a while for the first, first or second month for the second. I hope for a quick BFP for #2 once we start trying - we tried 18 mos for our first, he's 9 weeks old now, and we'd like our kids close together.

just wanted to update you all. I got my BFP!!! still early but wanted to share the good news! Now I am trying to remember all the do's and don'ts of pregnancy. I am pretty sure I did a good amount of don'ts already!
