This weekend I found out both my Mom and MIL spent 5 days in the hospital after having their kids. FIVE DAYS. We get kicked out after like 36 hours or something crazy like that.

My mom was in for 5 days, too! I got the boot 24 hours I gave birth, which is standard here.

Dang. I never asked her! I know my mom labored and gave birth on the hard floor though! They didn't birth on beds at the clinic where I was born!

About four hours. My mom always left the hospital as soon as possible after birth.

I've never asked! I assume two..because I was born on April 10 (at 6:14pm) and my baby book says first day home was April 12.

My mom left within 12 hours, she was amazed that I was happy to stay in there for 72 hours.

My mom left the hospital the day after my brother was born (he was born at around 9pm). That was her only vaginal birth though.
With my sister and I she had c-sections (mine planned and my sister's emergency) and I'm not sure how long she stayed in the hospital...I'll have to ask.

@chopsuey119: ow, your poor mom! Did she at least have a blanket or something to lay on?

@sorrycharlie: THIS is why baby books are so important!!

@mediagirl: Yep. Blanket, but I was a huge baby and she's a small woman. She went au naturel too. I can't imagine doing it without drugs!

@mediagirl: lol, good point! I also know who bought me all my first gifts and who visited me on what day..HAHA!

I was the last baby born in that hospital (I was born the day before the new facility opened), and I had to stay a few extra days for some reason. They let my mom stay in the hospital too, so I don't know when she would have gone home had I not needed the extra care.

With my older sister (1979) she was there 3 days. With me (1981) she was there less than 24 hours.

My mom was there for over a week, but I was emergency c-section and then had some complications.

I was a c-section baby so she stayed at the hospital for a few days. My brother was born naturally so she left after 24 hours.

My siblings and I were all born in a small village in China so no hospital. Home birth with the village midwife.

my mom was in the hospital for 5-7 days(not sure which) after i was born. i was 3 1/2 weeks early and was jaundiced so i was in an incubator and my mom got an infection so that's why we were in a little longer. i think with my brothers she was in and out, she had much easier births with them than she did with me(i was the first)

My mom was 3 days, I was delivered by C-section. With my older sister she was there awhile because she was a premie and way early.
