I don't think I was ever in a booster seat. I was a light weight and I'm pretty sure I was light enough to be in one during middle school or longer.

I don't ever remember being in a booster seat! I swear, car safety was optional in the 80s. I remember rolling around in the back of our station wagon most of the time!

I remember being in one. But I don't remember how old I was when *I* decided I no longer needed to use it. Haha - definitely a different world in the 80s!

I vaguely remember riding in one in the front passenger seat of my mom's van when I was probably 5 or 6. This was before we had airbags in our car.

I don't remember being in one ever. I do remember my younger sisters friend was in one and we all rolled our eyes at how crazy her mom was with that stuff (and now I am totally the crazy mom with that stuff!).

I don't think I was ever in one. I remember sitting on pillows when I was a kid to be able to see out the window!

I remember being in one around 7 or so, because my mom got a ticket for it. Basically the police officer didn't think it was a car seat and my mom had to bring the booster to court to prove it was legal.

@Mamasig: Same. The nurse actually yelled at my mom because my parents were using a car seat for newborn little me!

I was born in 1981, and car seats weren't mandatory until a few years later. I road in the car on my mom's lap! I'm not sure when booster seats became law, but our family never had one, so maybe it was the 90s?

I think I may have had one briefly, but don't remember for sure, and if I did it wasn't used long. I was tiny and by today's regulations I would have been in one til middle school.

Maybe when I was three or so. I don't remember. I was born in 1985 and car seats were not like they are now.

I can't remember, but probably longer than most at that time because I've always been petite.
I actually found a picture of my infant car seat at my mom's the other day and it looks so unsafe compared to ours now! (Late 80s baby)

I don't think ever. Not sure how widely they were used when I was little...or if they were even around then.

I had one. Apparently my brother and I were in car seats until kindergarten and I had a booster after that. I think I used it until 2nd grade or so. I was born in 82.
My parents are into safety but my mom said the extended carseat use was to keep me and my brother from fighting. The booster was to reduce car sickness by helping me see out the window.
ETA - our car seats were rear tethered by drilling a hole in the car and adding a latch (or something that involved making a hole in the car).
