I voted 3, cause DH and I each have a Visa separately. Then I added him to the Discover when we got married. It is our main one so we can get points.

Including store cards... 7. 2 Visa, MC, discover, Amex, macys and VS, oops, and express. 8 actually. Shoot, I forgot a Citibank MC that I dont use anymore but still have open too that just has my cell phone bill on it auto pay. 9.

1. My husband likes us to use a credit card for all purchases just in case something happens. We don't want to have to deal with someone stealing our debit card number.

2 - a Discover and a Chase card. Other than that, I just have my regular debit card and a Target debit card, and my husband has a separate account that he used to use for everything, but now only uses to receive payments for ads on his website.

I have none (it was not renewed, due to inactivity; whoops), and DH has one that I use, if needed. We're opening another before LO arrives, just in case.

I have a debit card and 2 work credit cards. Debit cards aren't good for ecommerce, since (I think) you can't charge back to a debit card!

I have one credit card but about 4 store cc's. I hardly ever use them.

2 credit cards which I put all my purchases on. I use it like a debit card though and don't put anything on it I couldn't buy on debit. They are paid off every month.

9+. When SO and I merged finances, we each put each other on our accounts. We only actually use 2 or 3 and the rest sit empty.

1. We use it for almost all of our transactions but pay it in full every month...we like to use the credit card vs cash so we can get the points.

we have an amex spg, discover, chase freedom, and target... so i voted 4! we mainly use our discover card because the rewards are awesome, but when places don't accept discover, we'll use chase. we always use the target card at target - we go there often for practically everything and it's 5% back every time!
we pay everything back in full each month. we always use our cc's to track expenses and to earn rewards.

I have a lot. Each one is carried for a different purpose in order to maximize our rewards.
e.g. We have a card we use at restaurants, a different one gets used for Costco, a different one at grocery stores...
It gets a little complicated, but I think its worth it to try to earn more rewards.

Amex, Discover and two Visas with different rewards.

We have a joint credit card and my card to our joint spending account is also a Visa Debit, meaning I can use it like a credit card to purchase online. We feel that it's all we need.

Voted 4 but didn't count my debit cards. I rarely ever use debit cards. Afraid of fraudulent charges. Have 4, but use 1. Didn't want to ruin my credit by closing everything. Nice to have emergency cushion.
