When LO2 starts Kindergarten LO1 will be in 2nd grade, so they will be two grades apart if everything turns out right! I was always in completely different schools than my siblings since we have such a large age gap between us (5 and 7 years), so it will be nice the girls can be in school together a lot of the time.

Ours will be three grades apart so will only be together in HS for one year since our district splits up the elementary schools by grade.

2 grades. My closest sib and I were one grade apart, and I loved it and wanted my kids close in age. As the younger one though, I think my sister would have preferred a little less of my shadow, so I was hopeful this would be the right balance for them.

20 months apart and 1 grade apart. dd is at the beginning of her class and ds is at the end of his class. it'll be great as they'll almost always be at the same school, not so great with college tuition

Four years apart in school. I'm bummed they'll almost always be in two separate schools except for a few years of elementary, but no overlapping college tuition at least!

One year apart for my first two even though they are two years apart in age. Two years apart for my middle and youngest even though they'll only be 12.5 months apart in age. That Dec.29 birthday is a monkey wrench.

September 30 is cut off date in VA.
So, DS1 will be young for his grade, DD will be old for her grade and DS2 will be young for his grade.

They should be two years apart if I adhere to the traditional system but I'm currently fighting to delay DD1's start in school as I don't want her in full time school from 4 yrs 2 months old. If I'm successful, they'll only be one year apart in school.
LO3 will be another summer born who I may or may not delay, depending on what their personality is like. S/he will be two years behind DD2 if they start school on time, three years behind if I delay again.

My girls are 28 months apart, and will have 3 years apart in school. My older daughter is on the younger side for her year, and my younger one is on the older side for her's!

They should be one grade apart but people are holding their kids back earlier and earlier so I will wait and see how I feel when it's time to send LOw. It seems research is showing it's better to wait so I wouldn't be totally opposed to red shirting him so that he has a better chance of being able to sit still for so long.

if I did my math right: our cut off is Sept 1.
Lo1 & Lo2 are 2 years apart with August birthdays and will be 2 grades apart.
Lo2 & Lo3 are 15 months apart but Lo3's birthday falls after the cut off, so he'll be almost 6 before he starts Kindergarten, making it 2 grades apart between lo2 & lo3.
