Currently she's there about 8.5 hours. Soon it will be 9.5.
She goes 8-4:30 now but we'll have to change that to 8-5:30 in a couple weeks.

When DH is traveling 10 hours: 7:15-5:00

730-530. Traffic on our area sucks (daycare to work is only about 12 miles but it takes an hour to get there during the Rush) and DH works 50 miles from home. Hopefully we will move closer to my in laws soon so she won't be in daycare more than 2 days a week.

About 9, about 8:30-5:30, two days a week right now. Will probably increase soon as I'm up for a new job.

LO is one, and goes to grandmacare from 9-1 M-F.When she turns 2 we are hoping to send her to daycare/preschool in the afternoons.... so far its cost prohibitive.

7:15 - 5:45, so 10.5 hours. But only 5 hours on Fridays. It sucks, but that's the reality of an NYC suburb. Picking him up at 5:45 means leaving work by 4:15.

10 to 10.5. On holidays when day care is open, 8 to 9.5. I'm a failure.

@Mama Bird: feels like it some days, doesn't it? But we're not. We're providing for our kids and to do that, they have to go to daycare. No way around it. I'm sorry you feel that way.

the average is 9 hours. some days are shorter though and occasionally as long as 9.5

@Mama Bird: Why would you say that? You're in no way a failure. My commute is an hour to work, which means L has to be at daycare by 7am. I get off at 4:30 and that means we don't pick him up until closer to 5:30. This is REALLY standard in my city. These mom's are not failures. I am not a failure, and that means you aren't either.
7:00am - 5:30pm
10 - 10.5 hours.

About 10 hours, 5 days a week. DH could watch her one of those days but would rather not.

@mediagirl: @.twist.: I don't mean to imply that any of us working moms aren't doing what we have to do. Me personally though... I was just forced to send my little boy to day care on Presidents Day, even though I was home. It's a long story, but that's another day in our lives I'll never have back and I guess it was the last straw

Right now she's in a nanny share, so 9 hours a day. I feel like we should subtract nap time because they're just sleeping. So, 7 hours
When she starts preschool in September she'll be there for 9.5 hours a day.

@Mama Bird: Aw. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're doing great, serious.
ETA: if anything, you should feel like a great mom for caring that much! I must be horrible since sometimes I send L to daycare even if I'm home, just so I can get a day to myself!

Right now, LO goes to daycare two days per week from 9-3, so only 6 hours per day. She is with my mom two days per week usually 9-4ish. I WAH part-time.
In the fall, we are going to 3 days per week and I think we will add after-care which will make for 8 hour days. The most our school offers is 10 hours, 7am-5pm.

@Mama Bird: don't say that! daycare is closed on all the holidays I get. BUT .. BUT .. my company gives me veteran's day off of all days. And her daycare is open. I HAPPILY send her to daycare but dang it .. it's my ONE DAY OFF THE ENTIRE YEAR that I can have all to myself. No cleaning. No grocery shopping. No laundry. I sleep, eat in bed, watch trashy shows and shower at 2 in the afternoon. It's fantastic.
