DD will do 3 (or more!) Hours during the day, if we let her, but I'm thinking we may need to start limiting her daytime nap to two hours. She's only sleeping 10-ish hours at night, and I think its because she sleeps so much during the day.

Actually, my 3.5 year old at that age slept exactly like that! He could sleep up to 4 hours and would only sleep 10 hours at night. He wasn't particularly cranky during the day so I was okay with that. Plus, I loved getting so much down time to myself! Sounds like she's a great sleeper in general. Now he takes no more than a 2 hour nap, sometimes only 1 and still sleep about 10 hours at night. But we're trying to put him down a little earlier these days so he can get an extra 30-1 hour of sleep time. Now that he's older I don't' think the putting him down a half hour or hour works like it did when he was younger.

@erwoo: I do like getting those hours of free time during the day, lol! i just want her to sleep past 5:30 am. What time does your DS go down at night?

Zero, sadly, but she always does 12-13 hours at night.

@Honeybee: oh we have late bed times bc my husband gets home late. But it works for our schedule though. He goes to bed around 9-9:30pm, sometimes 10. I know. Late!!! I usually don't let him sleep past 6pm for naps. Sometimes he goes down for late naps bc of our schedule. We are starting to skip it from time to time if we can't make it home on the weekends.

My DD consistently sleeps 1.5 hr every day since she was 18 months and now she is 4. On rare occasions she will sleep 2 hrs. She sleeps about 11 hr at night now, but used to sleep 12 for a longtime.

LO is just turning 2. She has a similar pattern and I was wondering the same thing. I haven't made a firm decision to cut naps yet.
