My son had 20+ kids in his Kindergarten and 1st grade classes! That seems like a lot to me... I feel like something in the teens is pretty reasonable, and more like the class sizes I had growing up.

20+ in LO's kindergarten classroom with one teacher and one aide. It's a big change from his preschool classroom last year with 9 students, a masters teacher, and a handful of student teachers throughout the day.

This year there are 9 kids in her pre-k class. Last year it was 7. She has a main teacher and an aid. I love her school so much. She was in a Montessori school before that and it was over 20 kids mixed age with a teacher and aid. That was a good program too but i think just a little big for her age group and our preference. At her current school she has blocks of time where she works one on one with her teacher and it has been amazing for her

13 in DD2's pre-K class with two full time teachers. DD1 is going into 1st grade, but they don't tell us who's in the class until the first day of school, next week. Last year she had 16 in her kinder class with two full time teachers.

Someone we know has a son in grade 5 with 48 kids. They live in a different town than us and there is a very high kid population and their school district is definitely having a hard time keeping up.
