Our base elementary school has 4 Kindergarten classrooms. We are one of the smaller schools in the county, though with approx 500 students.

There's just one school for our town and I believe this year it is 7 classrooms (maybe 8?) of 17 kids.

4 classes of 25. Our school is elementary through HS all in the same facility, so about 1200 kids all together.

DS1 is in a small French school with 2 mixed JK/SK classes. i think one has 16 kids, the other has 28 kids (bigger class has an assistant).

8 with 30 ineach. The principal says we've got one of the biggest kinder populations in the city. 240 littles to keep track of!
DH is at a meeting tonight to talk about rezoning for our school got determine which addresses can attend the school) because we're way over capacity. I'm hoping we're still in the zone.

@tinyperson: that is insane!!! 30 kids per class in a kinder class?? I hope they have at least a teacher's assistant in the room!
We have 3 on the campus I work on, but each in the district varies from 3 kinder teachers to as many as 7 at some of the larger campuses.

I think 4. My town has a pretty small school district. I wonder what the numbers will be in one more year when my oldest starts K.

Ours usually has 6 or 7 classes (split between AM/PM) with 15-18 children each. In our town, all first graders and kindergartners attend the same "early education center", which also has 1-2 sections of PreK 3 and PreK4 that you can get into by lottery.

LO's school has 8 Kindergarten classrooms with a total of 180 students in each grade. He goes to a k-12 charter school.
