I haven't even begun interviewing yet, just sorting through resumes and emails and i feel overwhelmed. I am wondering how long this process will take until we have our nanny.
How many people did you interview? Was that a small selection of the applications you received?
How did you know they were "the one"

We interviewed 3 we ended up going with my aunts friend who had glowing reviews

We got so many responses, I just selected the first few received for followup. We interviewed 5 over a span of week before deciding. She came thru agency one of my friends used and had great experience.

@silver1: that also sounds pretty stress-free! i have my first interview on monday and am trying to set up a few more but it is harder than i thought!

Yes she was. I had them do a trial run where I was in the house it in another room and watched how they reacted to dd's seperation anxiety and how they comforted her

My current boss interviewed (on skype) 4 people, including me. She told me that she knew I was the one right away. I always find that hilarious because I was convinced I blew my interview. Ha!

We did two days of back-to-back interviews, 9 total. As in love, when we found "the one," we just knew! We contacted people who had glowing reviews on our local parenting listserv.
