It's time for me to get some new eyeglasses. I am trying to figure out if I should just stick with 1 set or buy 2. I've always just had 1 but with so many fun frames out there it's hard to say no to getting 2 pairs.

I leave 1 at work, 1 in my car, and 1 at home. I have another on order so I can leave 1 in DH's car too. And 1 pair of prescription sunglasses.

I voted 1 but actually I have sunglasses too, so really 2. I find it hard to switch back and forth too much, even if they're the same rx it gives me a headache to switch too much, I think bc the shape of the lens changes how much I can see w my peripheral vision

Just 1 pair of normal glasses and 1 pair of sunglasses.

I have 2 pairs of regular glasses with the same prescription. I got an good deal if I bought 2 so I just went for it. It's nice if I forget where I put one pair but it definitely was never necessary before.

@PurplePumps: Same here! I have one at work, one in my car and one at home. I have two pairs of prescription sunglasses but I just got a new pair this year. I get a new pair per my insurance every 2 years. So almost all of them were covered by insurance. My eyes are pretty much the same prescription as it was 8 years ago. Oh, I bought one out of pocket because I thought I lost it.
I always use my glasses when I drive at night. During the day, I use them to see far (like reading presentations or going shopping where I need to read overhead songs). My prescription is barely an prescription so if I forgot my glasses, I would have the just squint.

@autumnleaves: 1 super regular, 1 that gets switched with the regular ones, and the 3rd one is the super back up.... but I always "lose" my glasses so all 3 get worn.
And this is not counting my sunglasses which I wear almost daily, also prescription.
so... 4.ETA: same Rx since 2009, so that helps. Also one pair is a $6 zenni pair.

It's never even occurred to me to have more than 1! I thought people that had multiple styles were wearing "fake" glasses. Like just for fashion.

Just one. And I usually only wear them at night, since I wear my contacts during the day

@pastemoo: @aprild: maybe that's the difference. I also only wear mine at night once my contacts are out. If I wore them daily like pastemoo then maybe I'd want more options.

@SweetiePie: I think if I could wear my contacts more I'd stick with 1 pair of glasses but I wear glasses 95% of the time now.
@youboots: @yin: did you order the Warby Parker's online to try or did you go to a store? I hadn't heard of them before today.

@autumnleaves: I ordered a few pairs online to try them on, and it was a really simple process. I found a pair I loved, and they have been great for the past 3 years (wow.. has it really been that long?). I only paid $95 and possibly used a promo with American Express, bringing it down to $85. Can't beat the price for stylish quality glasses.
DH gave it a try, but he didn't like any of the ones he picked out. It was really simple to order and return them. No cost!

@autumnleaves: I should have said 3. I also have a pair of WP sunglasses. I bought the first pair when they did a tour in big cities. I have visited the store in NY. The sunglasses I got via their free try on option. I opted for my salt pair only because I liked the clear glasses better from Salt- and I spent 3x as much. Their customer service is awesome

I have two but only there was a good deal last time I needed a new prescription. It is nice having two.
I used to mostly wear contacts, so one was enough.

Back when I used to wear glasses, I only ever had one pair at a time since I mainly wore contacts. They were so expensive I can't imagine buying two pairs at once!

Usually one pair, but I currently have three pairs of the same prescription.
Glasses have gotten more affordable, especially at places like Costco. I think my most recent pair cost around $300, including my special lenses.

@bluestriped bee: Yup! All of mine were covered by insurance and my eyes haven't really changed in 10+ years too. If I had to actually pay for it, I'd probably just have 1 of each. I get a new pair ever 2 years per my insurance, but I found a little loop hole in the last 3 years along with the IF loop hole I found, that if I jump between my plan and my husbands plan (we work in the same place) that I can get one every year.
