We keep their food bowl filled all the time. None of our cats overeat (and aren't overweight), so we feel okay doing it this way. If we had fat cats we'd regulate it more.

twice a day
My dogs bowl will be full and she still looks at me like "when are you going to feed me?" lol

Our dog gets fed twice a day. Our cat is a bit of a chunk so he gets fed once a day (at night).
We do leave both of their bowls out all day, so they usually snack throughout the day, but we add their designated amounts at the same time each day.
Our cat always acts like he's starving...but most of the time he still has food in his bowl.

Once a day (at dinnertime). They get treats throughout the day (mostly when LO drops/throws food from her high chair).

Twice. And a peanut butter filled Kong treat at lunch, plus small treats in exchange for tricks throughout the day.

Two cats are fed twice a day (one can of wet food per cat, per feed). One of the was obese, but doing much better now. On demand dry food (and dry food in general) created chubby kitties.

We leave food out and he goes and eats when he wants to. Normally he only eats when we do though, and he kind of snacks if we walk into the kitchen and he sees it.

Twice a day. Little shits will try to get more from whomever gets home 2nd. I've learned to ask DH if he's fed the dogs before I put anything in their bowls.

Our kitty gets a scoop of dry food in the morning and half a can of wet food for dinner. He usually picks at the dry food all day and then devours the wet over the span of a couple hours, so regulating the portions gives a nice balance between "free feeding" and keeping him from getting too chunky.
