Yeah, I'm not pregnant but today I just called out sick because AF came and I'm really cramppy.
Then that got me wondering, how often will I be calling out if and when I get pregnant?
Today was a better day for me to call out sick because I didn't have any meetings. If I had an important meeting, I wouldn't have called out sick.
How many times during your pregnancy did you either call out sick or wish you could call out sick?

I called out sick twice during the first trimester. Hopefully I won't have to take any more unscheduled days like that. I was just so exhausted/nauseous.

I had the option to work from home some days, and I used that option liberally. I had 9 months of "morning" sickness, so I generally felt pretty crappy.

I work from home once a week and thankfully have a flexible "wfh"-able job, so I've liberally used that and worked from home twice a week a few times during the first trimester. After my work announcement, it's been even easier to do so, but I've been feeling so much better that I only do it for doc appt days now.

I called off once the whole 9 months. I was fortunate and had a fairly easy pregnancy.

Technically none. I left early once because I was like 24 weeks and having 4 contractions an hour. Then the day I went into labor I had a feeling it was the real deal and called in (DD was a week early).

I was out sick once at the very beginning when I had some spotting, and then I was out sick yesterday with the stomach flu. I will probably leave early today since I'm still not feeling well and I'm dehydrated and generally feeling crappy. I'm only 15 weeks so I expect more days off to come. Everyone at work is super understanding though.

I've called in 4 times, the beginning was very rough and I was keeping nothing down. I could barely lift my head off my pillow on somedays due to exhausting of dry heaving all night. Luckily I have been better lately!

I haven't called out sick at all since I've been hoarding my sick days to use during my maternity leave. But I have worked from home a few times when I've had pregnancy fatigue/sickness, if I didn't have that option I probably would have toughed it out and come into work though.

I was sick a lot my first trimester, It was busy at work so they asked me to help out from home instead of taking the day off!

none, until i found out i was pregnant as a result of an SCH and had to miss 3 days of work per doctor (this was at 8 weeks). i am a teacher, and our last day of work was last week. if i did have to work over the summer, i am not sure if i would make it without taking any days!

I never got to call in sick, since patients were depending on me, but I did leave early once with gastro and towards the end I got put on bedrest

Other than being out for scheduled appointments, none except for my trip to L&D at 22 weeks for pre-term contractions/labor.

None with my first, once with this one. It was the last day I had morning sickness and I woke up, threw up, ate, threw up again, brushed my teeth and threw up again and was just like, EFF IT! and called in. Then I slept literally the entire time I would have been at work and didn't get morning sickness again the entire pregnancy.

I'm 21w today, and I haven't called in sick yet. Now, if we're talking about morning I wish I could have stayed in bed a couple of more hours, well, that would be every day! I've been pretty lucky so far with being able to suck up whatever discomfort I've had.

I didn't work while pregnant because I knew it would become an issue for me to call in sick so much. I was worried my migraines would get worse, and they did. I was literally on the couch for weeks at a time, unable to lift my head up.

I never called out sick, during my pregnancy I didnt want to give them any excuse to complain about my work whilst I was pregnant especially since I was taking lots of time off for doctor appointments

Once due to a migraine before I got a prescription that was "safer" for baby than what I used to take.

Oddly enough, I didn't call out until these past two weeks. I felt good enough to work up until now, I'm 39 weeks. I called out for a half day last week and worked a few hours from home. Today I called out because I got a whopping 2hrs sleep and had a wicked headache this morning.
I really didn't want to use my PTO time if I could help it. Now that we know how much PTO I have to use through my leave, we're both okay with me taking days off as needed until the baby arrives. My husband, the worrier, is actually pushing me to stay home now more than working. I love him.

How many times do I wish I could have called out sick: Pretty much every single day in the first 20 weeks lol
If I'm not really sick (like, can give people an illness and have a fever) I won't call in. I am on maternity leave now and while it's extremely, extremely boring to be home every day, it is nice because I am extremely uncomfortable

I haven't taken a full day yet (I'm 8w3d), but I've left early a few times. The fatigue just gets to me. I work at a university and summer is a very slow time for us...so I don't feel too bad heading home early. I am, however, trying to hoard sick time for maternity leave, so I don't see me calling in sick a lot.

I've been out 1.5 days so far (15 weeks) and it was because of a stomach bug at 10 weeks, not really pregnancy related. I think the pregnancy made it worse though since I couldn't take much to help my discomfort.
I wish I would have been able to call off 4-5 additional days due to headaches and pure exhaustion, but it wasn't going to happen. At this point, I really want to try to avoid taking days off (half days are ok because I get paid for the full day) if possible because then I lose paid days for maternity leave.

I'm at 33 weeks and have not called out or missed work once. Trust me, there were days I should have or would have loved to have spent napping. I think working full time while pregnant has been so challenging!

only once when I had a miserable headcold and couldn't take anything for it, after that it wasn't until I was placed on bedrest at 37 weeks.

Other than medical appointments I called in sick once bc I felt really terrible and left early maybe 4 times - twice due to migraines and the others due to feeling extremely nauseous/sick
