I am expecting to receive my diaper stash today, and I plan to put them in the laundry some time this week. On the bum genius website it states that it takes several washes for the diapers to reach their max absorbency, I was just wondering how many times you prewashed them before you started using them. I was planning to just wash them once.

I think I did around 3 hot washes (only one with soap).

@artbee: @pelikila: So did you just repeat the wash cycle multiple times while they diapers were in the machine or did you actually take them out after each cycle and dry them and then wash them again?

@Mrsbells: It should give you instructions in how to wash them when you get your diapers. But it's different than what I've read online..... so really I have no good advice.

@Mrsbells: No drying between. Just hot washes (first with soap followed by washes with no soap).

@Mrsbells: I was pretty overwhelmed with the diapers when I got them and thought I'd do something wrong. But 8 months later they work great and have held up well. Try not to get overwhelmed too!

I only washed mine once and then started using them. The volume of LO's peep and poop was so small when we started using them that I guess it didn't matter that they weren't at their max absorbency - we didn't have any leaks.
