I think T will be a shark for halloween - PB Kids has a cute costume and it's $39 - but I have a $25 gift card - and there's free shipping today! So, $14 is a good deal for a costume, right? But the frugal part of me wonders if I should save the gift card for something we actually *need* (we don't need anything now).
He's only going to be 5.5 months on Halloween so I'm sure he'll wear it for all of 15 minutes....

i was on the fence about costumes too! my husband insisted though and we paid $25 for a dragon costume. he'll hardly be in it, and not going anywhere, but DH really wanted it. so i guess there is no harm in that! lol

I spent under $25 for Olive's strawberry costume from Gymboree. And I'm going to spend another $15 for our family costumes (it's a theme). So not bad!
Even if they are babies, the pictures are just so cute it's worth it!

I spent $5 - LO is going to be a lady bug. I found the costume at a garage sale this summer. Since she'll only be 5.5 months at Halloween, and it's a size 24 month costume, I'm hoping she can wear it for 2 years (assuming her growth rate slows down!).

My MIL got us a cow cotume from carters. So, we paid nothing. I'm a little annoyed because it's Brennan's first halloween and I really wanted to pick out his costume. DH said I could get another costume but it's hard justifying spending money on another costume when we already have one at home. I was wanting to do the lobster costume from Pottery Barn Kidns and DH and I would chefs. Pottery Barn Kids has the cutest costumes! I love the shark one too!

I bought LO something that she will be able to wear again and I'm making it into a costume. So I spent $12.... but she'll get more use out of it then just one night.
She's going to be Kermit the frog so I just had to buy her a green outfit and hat, and I'm sewing on felt details.

LO is 6 months, and we spent about 25$ for a ladybug costume. She'll only be wearing it to go see the grandparents, and for some pics. I had planned on just making some sort of easy, cute costume, but DH insisted that she needed the ladybug costume. He's such a sucker! But the pics will be cute, and it is her first Halloween

Oh man, this totally made me remember we have a PB gift card too! I've been eying the costumes but just couldn't justify the cost. I think I'm reconsidering it now though

$1 for a tinkerbell costume from the thrift store. looks like it was used once. there are so many costumes (princess, animals, super heroes, etc) at the thrift store for just a few bucks, some with tags still on it.

@kakimochi: I almost bought a carebear costume 3 sizes too big for my LO at a consignment store just because it was so cheap and I love the carebears! But I talked myself out of it. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean I have to have it.

I spent $3 for DD's costume at a neighbor's garage sale this past weekend. I hope to not spend much more on DS' but then I'm considering getting him one of those snowsuits that look like a bear and having him be that for Halloween since he'll only be 7w.
