i have dropbox and google drive. i prefer dropbox, but google drive is convenient because I do use google docs a lot.
i would recommend dropbox. it just loads faster and you can install it on your smartphone to automatically back up pix.

Both my husband and I use Dropbox. We're still deciding on which cloud storage to purchase space for. My hard drive died recently, so we got a solid state one, and are debating where to store the pics in the cloud.

@Mrs. High Heels: i'm playing with fire...i have around 8K pictures that need backing up.
i had a nightmare the other night my computer crashed and I lost them all! that feeling was scary enough for me.

@matador84: do you have them backed in an external hard drive? that could be an option for the time being and it will be time consuming to transfer 8000 pics, but external hard drives can crash too.
$99/year is $8.25/month. is it in your budget to allocate something like that? it's like one meal a month. it might be worth it for peace of mind!

following! I have an external HD that I back everything up to every few months, but in the mean time I put pictures and videos on DVDs in a giant album, too.

Open drive sends you a hard drive so you don't have to do the initial upload online. It is $40 a year for 150 or 250 gb. I can't remember which I did right now. You can customize and set your own price. I am just trying them out this year and not how nicely iphoto cooperates so I can't fully recommend yet.

Dropbox is great but you only get 100 GB for $99/year. For the amount of storage we needed it was unaffordable.
We use CrashPlan. It's $60/year for unlimited cloud backup. LOVE IT!!!
