My max budget is $20. I usually like to give a book and a toy/something crafty.

I stock up a present closet when I find great craft kits / toys on sale, so I try to spend no more than $10. Right now I have a bunch of Melissa and Doug stamp sets, Alex craft kits, spin art machines and memory games for the little kids. I find a lot of great deals at craft stores and on amazon!

This is our first year with a lot of class birthdays so I’m trying to figure this out. I’m aiming for between $10-20, depending on how close they are and if I know the kid will like something (like, generic gifts I aim for closer to ten but for the girl who loves Moana like my daughter I spent $20 on stuff I’m sure she will like). We asked for no gifts at my daughters party so I don’t really know the norm now!

I just spent $10 on a lego set, I aim for $10-15 usually. I might spend a little more for someone where I knew the family well.

Usually $10-$15. I try to stock up on stuff on clearance or really good deals so that I can stretch that budget and just keep a "gifts box" in my spare room

DD just started preschool and we went to 2 birthday parties and I spent $30! Then I found out it was too much haha! I think I'll be spending $15-$20 next time.

$15-20. Usually closer to 20 unless I catch a good deal.

Very close friends get a special gift I know they want. For classmates, DS picks out his favorite book and I buy it in bulk -- everyone gets a copy. So....$10-12 probably.
ETA: he is 3 and has already been invited to 10 parties just between August-October....

I don't like gifts for older kids!! Ha. It's odd to me - especially for a classmate.
If I felt like I needed to get a gift, it would likely be about $10-$15 of art/craft supplies.
If it's a close friend, $30 is my limit. I think I have the unpopular opinion that only 1st birthdays should warrant parties with gifts from friends.

$20-$30 for class friends. Closer friends around $30-$50. I try to keep in mind the type of venue it is because parties can be so very costly around here.. usually the typical places are a minimum of $25 per child invited plus the cost of food for everyone. Even house parties add up with the rentals involved, food, activities. We don't always say Yes to each and every party though, there are so many!
