And I am calling you out on not answering your own question or even ballparking an answer.

@mrbee: Which is how much money?
I buy 3 pairs of walking shoes (that I literally walk out of when I'm done with them), 1-2 pairs of running shoes depending on how much I'm running... it adds up!

To narrow it down, let's just talk about heels. I have narrow feet and expensive taste so each pair run around $300 plus a couple of really nice ones ($600). Right there, in my closet we're looking at 3k? Over a lifetime? I wouldn't even want to start counting. Add in flats, my collection or Rod Lavers, Nike's, enough flip flops to float that poor cruise ship and we've got a gross number.

this is embarrassing, but i only have like 10 pairs of shoes or something right now. (that's including like 5 pairs of boots or so. haha.)... well, more like 10-15 (i have like 3 pairs of sneakers or so - 2 i don't really wear)... in my lifetime, i would never really spend more than $100-200/pair of shoes. i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to spend a whole lot more (and the last few pairs of boots were definitely more expensive - thank you, my husband), but i just can't justify spending $400+ on shoes that i'll wear like once a year or less. although, i do think they are o so pretty and i'm o so tempted haha.

I have about twenty pairs of shoes and most of them were not expensive. I have no clue on how much I've spent on shoes in my life.

I've bought a lot of shoes in my life ... but I used to shop at payless so I never spent a lot. Now I get my shoes for free because my dad USA foot doctor and he sells orthodic sandals, that's all I wear.

@mrbee: Never really had to convince them. Would just say how much I LOVED this or that. They were all really generous. Kinda feel bad for accepting extravagant gifts now that I look back. Would totally do things differently if I could.

Wow, I'm in the definite minority here! I go mostly barefoot or wear those moccassin fuzzy slippers from AE that I get for Christmas. The only pair of shoes I bought last year were a $40 pair of Chucks from the outlet store. I considered them the "modern Keds" for preggos, so I had to have a pair! I buy maybe 2-3 pairs a year tops, and they're almost all from Target and under $30. I used to buy heels when I worked in a more professional atmosphere, but now that I freelance from home I just don't care that I'm wearing flats from my college days

Not very many and not that expensive. They get ruined so fast I can't justify spending more than $100 a pair.
