I know lighting plays a part in sleep but not sure if it should be darker or lighter to where they can see? What do you do about lighting?

We turn on the twilight turtle. It gives off just enough light so I can see but doesn't disturb her sleep by putting off too much light.

We have played around with it and find that total darkness seems to be best. She has mini blinds on the windows but there is still a bit of light that comes in. Also her monitor has a yellow light on it.
