I used to be good about water consumption, especially while pregnant & BFing. NOW? I am so lazy about it. Need to get back into some good habits.

I drink a lot of water 100 oz or so, so more than 1/2 my body weight.

A lot! I never really keep track, but I have a 20 oz tumbler that I refill. Easily 100oz/ day -more on days I work out.

I drink about 64-80oz daily. I'm not sure how much you're supposed to drink but I hope I'm drinking enough!

I drink a crap ton of water. I'm supposed to consume about 72 oz of water a day. I don't know the exact number of what I drink but it's somewhere around 160 oz. Which in theory is great but our well water isn't drinkable & there is too much iron in the water for a filter to be effective so I am buying crap tons of water a week. We are on gallon #7 since Friday. Some of that is DH & LO but mostly me.

Pre-pregnancy, I was probably drinking about a gallon of water every 24 hours (I drink a lot of water at night), or more. During pregnancy, like 2-2.5 gallons a day. Its pretty insane.
persimmon / 1386 posts
About 100oz. Sometimes more. Try to fill up my 24oz cup at least 4 times at work plus usually a glass of water with dinner. I am much better at drinking water at work than anywhere else.

I probably drink around 60 oz. Not quite half my body weight, but not too far off. I'm also much better at drinking water at work than if I'm home all day.

Not enough D: It just doesn't cross my mind unless my throat feels dry. My husband however drinks at least a gallon a day. He's guzzling it all day!
persimmon / 1343 posts
Do you know if that rule applies to kids too? I am sometimes bad at remembering to give DD water! But when I do give it to her she guzzles it down like her dad. I just didn't want her to get "full" on water so I limit her to 10oz unless it is really needed (she's 14 months and still nursing too)

I'm trying to make it to 64 oz daily. My naturopath said anything that is not caffeinated counts towards the total, including juice and Gatorade.

I used to drink 100 ounces, but I was going to the bathroom way too much to be productive, so I cut back to 64 ounces. I drink only water most days.

@gingerbebe: this. & I want to stop drinking so much because I'm so tired of going to the bathroom but I am genuinely that thirsty!

I guess not enough?
I drink about 60 oz, but half my body weight would be about 70+ oz, so I guess I should step it up!

Why something that is so necessary, so hard to remember to do? I have such a hard time remembering to drink water. But a cup of coffee? I will fight tooth and nail to consume!

I try and drink ~100oz, I have a huge water bottle that holds 48oz, so I try and I drink 2 of them. It's a myth that you need that much though, everyone is different - if you are not retaining water and not thirsty, than you are probably drinking enough!

After reading everyone else's responses...Oh man. I drink like, a glass or 2 a day? No wonder I feel like sh#t.

Now that I'm breastfeeding again, I've been drinking 100-120 oz of water a day.

@Mrs. Sunshine: We straight up get water delivery to our house. We have awful water around where we live too and I'm super picky about the way my water tastes. We used to get five 5-gallon jugs delivered every 2 weeks and we just recently bumped up to 7. Uh yeah, there are just 2 of us here.

Not enough! Probably only 40 oz a day. And I'm pregnant. My last pregnancy, I could to drink enough water. This time I have to force myself to drink it.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@gingerbebe: we are seriously considering water delivery. It's a PITA buying do much water. I have to go to the store for water an extra two times a week!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Mrs. Sunshine: OMG its the best thing ever. Especially because you can have hot and cold water on demand and if the cooler ever gets gross or dirty, they just come and swap it out with a new one.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@gingerbebe: hopefully this conversation will help me remember to bring it up with DH later
persimmon / 1177 posts
@gingerbebe: @Mrs. Sunshine: We have a water cooler too, but the place is just down the road so we don't have them deliver - just go refill the jugs once a week. It is great though!
So much cheaper and easier than individual bottled water from the store.

I usually get at least 90 oz at work alone. Judging by your coworkers recommendation I'm doing great! (Should have 45 oz.)
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
I was told that I need about 100oz of water per day. While on mat leave, I was coming close - but now that I'm back at work, I'm lucky if I manage to drink 32 oz.
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
When I worked I drank so much water bc I would just be at my desk or in a meeting and I had a water bottle with me all the time. I would drink at least 80-100 oz water a day easily.
Now that i stay at home I barely remember to drink water - and I'm pregnant . I probably get around 50 oz on a good day
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@charmed: @Mrs. Sunshine: That's true, lots of people in our town refill their 3 or 5 gallon jugs at the grocery store and just use a non-electric ceramic cooler spigot thing. I think its like $.32 a gallon around here, so definitely cheaper than buying 1-gallon jugs.
@Mrs. Sunshine, if you are a Costco member, they have discounts for water service. http://www.costcowater.com

Uhhhh...I drink like, 16 oz a day (one bottle of water). Def not enough. I was much better about it while pregnant.
