If you are already giving $100 worth of gift cards to your kids teachers I would only throw $20 in the pot

I'd probably scrap the individual gift cards and give $100 to the bonus pool.

Either/or. Either give money to the pool or do gifts. Don't do both. I don't think that's fair. I see it as pretty much screwing the teachers who were going to get nice gifts from some parents. Honestly this would never fly at my daycare. The teacher bonuses would be like $5.

i understand your reasons for giving gifts to the teachers even though there's a bonus pool. so considering that you are already giving the individual gifts, i voted $50. fyi, we are spending close to $300 this year on daycare gift cards because we have two kids in daycare, and there are floaters/administrators that we are including. it definitely adds up, but i remind myself that it doesn't hurt to be generous with my children's caretakers. plus they work really hard and i don't think the industry pays enough in wages.

ETA not to say that everyone should be spending that amount, definitely depends on circumstances.

Our previous daycare did this too, but we just opted to give individual teacher gifts and didn't contribute to the pooled gift.

I would give a smaller amount to the pool.

I would just give them the gift cards that you bought. I would not contribute anything additional to the pool.

Honestly, the bonuses should be coming from the people who run the day care center, not from the parents. I find that whole idea very strange.

Between 0-20$, I think your gifts are already plenty.

I would give cash directly to the part timers you love and donate some cash to the pool for the other teachers and get something small like a card and edibles for all 4.

Our parent group takes donations (suggested amount per child is $25). We don't donate to this though as we do individual gifts/gift cards to the teachers. They also ask for $25 value gifts for a year-end raffle. We've contributed to that but only when we've had something on hand to re-gift (gift card to a restaurant not local to us, sporting game tickets, movie tickets).
