I was reading an article that said for the first year, you should only give your baby a bath once or twice a week. I had no idea so few baths were recommended! Just curious what everyone else does/did for the first year.

LO is four months old and we bathe her every night. Before she started day care it was probably every other day. Once she started and was around all of those germ bombs, we started the nightly bath. She really enjoys it.

I do it nightly but no soap some nights, depending on how her skin is. I also use cetaphil as was recommended by her pedi for dry skin when she was a nb.

We do once a week, twice if it's an exceptionally hot day.

We do it every second day but sometimes miss a day so then do it the third day. So I guess 2-4 baths a week, usually 3-4. For his first month we did it daily because we were too catious not to follow that recommendation. Now we realize its ok.

For the first 4-5 months she got a bath maybe 1-2x weekly. She hated bath time and since she wasn't crawling, she wasn't very dirty. Now she gets one nightly and loves it. Until we take her out of it.

we do it every night as part of our bedtime routine. i'm pretty sure it's fine to either way but if you bathe them every night it's important to use lotion every night so their skin doesn't get too dry.

Generally every night, but we don't use soap (just a couple drops of lavender in her bath water & a washcloth). She's gone the last 2 nights without one though just because we've gotten home late.

Until around 4 months it was around every 2-3 days. Now we bathe him every night as part of his nighttime routine. It's been so hot and with DS eating solids he needs that bath!

Almost every night before bed but I only use soap 1-2x a week.

I bathed both of my boys nightly b/c of their eczema and it was highly recommended by their allergist. It's suppose to help, especially if they scratched their skin a lot. Helps with preventing infections from breaking skin.

We do weekly, but now that he's about to start solids at 6 month, we will prob transition to daily.

We do every night practically since week one. But I dont know how much soap she actually gets since she's still floppy and mostly immersed in water in the sling. I have to wash her hair every other day at least though. It gets super greasy looking.

Ha! I think we're in the minority. Honestly, at most every other week, usually closer to once a month! However, we do BLW, so after every meal he gets rinsed off in the sink. He's 8 months and not quite crawling yet, so he's not getting too dirty.

The first 7-8 months we only bathed her about 2x a week. Once she really started crawling around outside, getting dirty, and we began incorporating it in her night time routine, we now bathe her every night. We only use soap 2x a week though.
