How often do you get a manicure? i just got one yesterday, and i have a gift certificate for a spa/salon, so i'd like to keep going, but not sure how often to go. it's just a regular manicure with polish, no gels/acrylics or anything. i was thinking every 2 weeks, but is that too often?

I get a mani maybe once a year because they just don't last on me. I think I'm going to go get a shellac manicure before the baby comes to spoil myself a little bit... they are very long lasting! I get pedicures much more often.

I usually paint my nails at home once or twice a week but I go to the salon maybe.... 3 times a year? If I depended on the nail salon to keep up my nails I'd probably go every 2 weeks. I prefer my nails on the shorter side.

i used to go through periods where i would get manicures on a regular basis--like every 2 to 4 weeks. but the cost adds up and my nails usually showed wear and tear after 1 or 2 weeks, so it wasn't worth it. so now i just get pedicures

I don't get them often because I work with my hands a lot so the paint chips after a few days. I normally only get them for special occasions (e.g. I'm in a wedding).

Not often enough. I wish I could get them more often, but they're a rare treat for me.

I also voted other, because i never go for manis on any set schedule. Pedicures in the summer, on the other hand, I am religious about.

Other--I've never had a manicure either, @Illumia! I did have a pedicure once with my SIL when I was in her wedding, but then I didn't even get one for my own wedding.

i'm not sure about mani's as i don't get them (i have a talent for chipping nail polish...) but if i had the funds i'd get a pedi every 5-6 weeks if i could!

Manis don't last for me, so probably only a couple times a year. I go for a pedi every 6 weeks or so in the summer though!

I go every other week. I teach English at a career center that certifies cosmetologists, so I have a student-run salon next door. It's only $12, and they do shellac, so it lasts at least 2 weeks.

It's just not my kind of thing. I may paint my nails once in a million years, but my main talent is trashing my nails

Like...twice a year, maybe? Usually just for special occasions. My fingernails tend to chip really quickly so I can't justify spending the money very often. I don't get pedicures much either...I find I can do my own toes just fine!

I do my own nails! I do miss the part of the manicure where they get rid of the dead skin around the nails, though.

Maybe twice a year unless I'm going to a wedding. I hate having polish on my nails. It chips immediately and when I take it off my nails feel a lot more brittle.
Once sandal weather begins though, I get pedicures about every 4 weeks until the end of the summer. I think it's okay to be polish-free on your hands, but not on your feet!

@ineebee: If you get a cuticle clipper you can remove the dead skin yourself! It's pretty easy.

Never. I used to only get them when I was in a wedding.... so 4 my whole life. But I opted out of doing it for my sister's wedding. I felt bad because it's fun bonding time with the girls, but the smell just gives me such bad migraines, I can't even walk into those places. So I'm done with it.
