I save it as my secret weapon, when Charlie won't go down any other way. Otherwise, he'd ask for songs every night... and I've already seen that movie before! And I didn't like how it ended... or rather, seemed to never end!!
I guess I sing him to sleep maybe 1-2x a month? Tonight was a night of song...

I tried singing to LO when he was a newborn but the only sings I could ever remember were Taylor swift songs

I rarely sing her to sleep....the only time I sing to her is during the day. It's probably best I don't sing to her much, I don't have the best singing voice

I sing to my unborn LO daily...does that count? I always used to sing my sisters to sleep, and I can't wait to do it when baby gets here!

@cmomma17: I used to sing classic lullabies but Charlie would sing along and not fall asleep... so I switched to a random Japanese song:
But he's learning the lyrics so I'm switching to another Japanese song.

@mrbee: By "sing to sleep", do you mean that you sing to Charlie at bedtime or he actually falls asleep while you are singing?

@mrbee: Awwww ... well, I sing to my baby every night. But he hasn't fallen asleep to my singing since he was a newborn, and I think that was just a coincidence.

@Katrocap: Charlie used to make me sing to him every night and it never put him to sleep... but once I started saving it for special occasions and stroking his hair while I sang, it started working like magic!

To sleep almost never, but when I need to calm him down, nothing works like singing the ABC's or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I save those big guns for desperate times- he had to get stitches last weekend, so I must have sung both about 100 times while we were in the ER, almost every time he calmed right down no matter what we were doing to him.
My SIL sings her boys to sleep every night, it usually takes only 1-2 songs before they are out.

Singing is part of his naptime/bedtime routine every day! We don't sing until he's asleep but he gets 3 songs aspart of his naptime routine and his daddy sings to him while they rock and E drinks his bottle during bedtime.

I sing a little bit when I put J to bed every night (just something made up), but he doesn't fall asleep while I'm singing. I sing and rub his back a little and then leave.

every night! its part of our routine and the one time during the day she will let me snuggle with her for more than 10 seconds. she doesn't fall asleep, but she closes her eyes and gets comfy.

I sing at naptime and bedtime. Sometimes he falls asleep before I'm done with our "routine", others times I put him down awake. I got sick of the same songs, so I'm trying to introduce some new ones!

I have a playlist that I play to sing along to every night while I feed LL his last bottle, right before bed. I don't sing until he is asleep, but I do sing most of the songs every night.

We do a song as part of the bedtime routine most nights, but it's before her last feeding, so, not "to sleep".
