Lately we've been bathing Charlie and Olive together. It's great because we kill two birds with one stone, and they both love it.
But how old is too old for a brother and sister to bathe together? I think the last time I took a bath with my brother was when I was 5 and he was 4.

I'm sure this is too old, but my parents put me at 8 and my bro at 1 in the bath together at least twice (pics as proof).
Perhaps when your kids understand their parts are private and noone else should see them. No playing "doctor" with another kid anddistinguishing between good touch vs bad touch.

I would say once Charlie starts becoming aware that Olive has different parts than he does. Or when he gets to an age where he can start remembering things?

I think most little girls (I don't know about boys, haven't had as much experience with them) hit a "modesty stage" around age four, where they want privacy and start to notice nudity. That's when my Mom stopped bathing with me or bathing me with my sister, because I didn't want to.

I think maybe until 5? We are doing this with 4yr old Dd and and 16 mo old DS.

I would say 3-4ish only because by the time I was that age (pre/kindergarten) I was already well aware of girl parts and boy parts.

@Arden: That's what I was thinking, too. Eventually, one of them will hit that modesty point.
I think as long as they're both comfortable, it doesn't matter. But as soon as one asks not to, then it's time to bathe separately. But I'm also one not to worry about them noticing parts. There's nothing wrong, in my mind anyways, with them realizing they're different.

I'd say 5ish too. My son and DD are a little over 2 years apart and we plan on bathing them together as long as possible! But I'd probably cut it off at around 5.

It's so nice to wash the kids togethet so I'll do it as long as possibl, lol! When one of them becomes uncomfortable we'll stop. Ours friends kids didn't stop until their DD was 7 and DS was 5 so hopefully it'll be a while.

I remember letting my parents know when I didn't want to bathe with my little brother. I think I was in elementary school. I remember my little brother crying the first bath he had to take alone! I say you can bathe them together until one of them becomes uncomfortable or asks for alone time.

I bathed with my brother for ages. Easily up till 9 or so, (7 year age gap). I don't see the problem at all. We are European though, so not in the least bit prudish.

I think it also depends on how mature they are to respect other people and "private" parts. If they can bath together without poking at each other, then go for it

My brother is 5.5 years younger than me and I've seen pictures of us in the tub together when he was probably around 1 and I was 6ish. I don't remember when we stopped doing that.

My parents stopped putting my brother and I in the bath together when I was 2ish and he was 4ish.
I stopped bathing with my little sister when I was around.....8-9. But she's 6 years younger than me, so my mom would totally use me to watch my sister when she was little. We were also the same gender. That stopped because my mom came back into the bathroom when I was being REALLY mean to my sister. I think I was threatening to hit her because she wouldn't stop squirting this blue soap into the water. So that was the end of that! (I was glad).

Min are boy are 4, 3 and 3. My daughter is 15 months. Although we taught them early that their parts are private (we had to with three little boys there was a lot of penis comparison and touching so we taught them they can only touch their own) but they don't mind bathing together still.
