Our pug is 11 next week and great dane is 8 months. Considering the very odd pairing they are the best of friends.
@crash806: When did your guy start going blind and deaf? DH and I were chatting about that yesterday.

She will be 16 in December. Still getting along quite well actually. Some days she cant hear real well (and some days she has selective hearing LOL) and some days she can't see that well either, but she has more good days than bad.

My oldest Yorkie is 9.5. Breaks my heart when I think of her aging. I can't think about it w/out crying. Ugh. My younger Yorkie is 4, and our Golden Retriever is almost 2.
@JennyLayneAZ: Wow! 16?! That's awesome!! What kind of dog is she? I'm praying my Belle will live as long as that!

Our doxie is 10 or 11 years old! The only thing that shows his age is the grey on his mouth and paws and that after 5 minutes of playing with a toy, he's so over it and just likes to pass out on the couch.

@lolabee: We rescued our pug 4 years ago and he was already blind and deaf. But our vet said his blindness was preventable, it was neglect from his previous owners that led to his blindness.

@MungBean: She's a corgi mix. My fiance got her from the pound when she was 6 weeks old. The vet said he thought she was part beagle, part German shepherd, but then she grew in length and not in height. A couple years ago fiance saw a corgi and it just clicked

My Maltese is going to be 12-years-old towards the end of December. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. I hope she lives a long, long time. I just can't imagine life without her. I hate thinking about it. Makes me SO, SO sad. :(((( So far, she's been healthy and plays like she's a toddler.

@crash806: That is so sad! I am glad you were able to rescue him. I've noticed some cloudy parts to our guys eyes, hoping they'll stay good for a long while.
