LO is 14 months and we will not have dental coverage until Sept. I didn't even bother checking how old he should be for his first visit before denying the enrollment, now I see he should've gone at his first tooth!
How old was your LO when he/she first saw a dentist and how was the experience for you and LO?

11 months. It was fine; he didn't love having her look in his mouth but it was quick.

A month shy of 2. We have been to two appts so far and both were super good. She is going to her third appt as soon as she turns 3 and she will be encouraged to go behind closed doors without me. We have a great pediatric dentist so I am excited but a little sad my little girl is growing up. They said they will take pics for me, sniff. 
And here is a tip that worked with my LO on her first visit. She hesitated to open her mouth the first time so I asked her, what does a lion say? Rahhhr!

8 months, but that was because he fell and one of his teeth got knocked out. the dentist we went to normally said that the first appointment can wait until around 18 months, so i think you're okay! he did say wiping down/brushing teeth should start when the teeth pop up, though.

Whew~! Looks like I'm not behind after all. I do brush his teeth every night with water.

We went at 16 months. It was just a quick one, the dentist counted his teeth and that was it. We didn't even go into the exam area, it was the dentist's office. Then the dentist talked to me about brushing and all that. He will go for his first cleaning at 2.5.
