When you get birthday invitation do you RSVP right away or sit on it until the due date?

I usually reply pretty quickly if we know we do/do not have a conflict.

For an unexpected invite I usually need 2 or 3 days to check my calendar and respond if there is a deadline. Otherwise, I may wait until much closer to the event to decide if I want to come.
Invites come with just contact info to RSVP and no deadline date seem strange to me. I'm not sure why a host would do that if the head count is important to the party prep or budget.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I didn't give a deadline yet for my kids' third bday party cuz the venue didn't give me a deadline. I'll update the invite when they demand a headcount lol.

Within a day or two. I got invited to a party yesterday and I told my friend yes right away. Only exception is if I can only come pending something else happening or not happening, in which case I'll let the host know this and also when I'll be able to know either way!
