Not to get hammered, but to have a glass of wine or two to toast/go out to dinner/whatever. I forget how it went down with my last, although I do recall having a glass of Prosecco in the hospital.

Probably once you're done with the more serious pain meds. I've had two c sections and I'm not a big drinker, but if I wanted one I'd have waited until I was done with the Percocet.

@Paddington10: when you are out of the hospital and off the opioid pain meds, so if you don't take the opioids, pretty much once they let you go home.

I think I had a glass or two the day I was released, even on the pain meds. Oops!

The only relevant factor is whether you are taking narcotics.
