DH and I live in a 2 bedroom, 4 floor townhouse. We've been debating forever what to do about bedrooms once we have a sticky baby. The master bedroom and 2nd bedroom are on at the 3rd floor, and there's a "loft" on the 4th floor. The loft is really big, and basically like a finished basement at the top of the house.
So our options are:
1)Stay in the master bedroom, put the baby in the guest room. In some ways this would be the simplest, but then we lose our guest room and have a ton of wasted space in the loft.
2)We move to the loft and put the baby in our room. This would give us a giant bedroom and still have the guest room, but we'd have to purchase a closet solution (like wardrobes at Ikea which would be ~$1k), and we might disturb the baby by going through their room. Also, the laundry is on the bedroom floor, so I'd have to carry laundry baskets up and down the stairs.
3)Put the baby in the loft, and we stay in the master bedroom. The problem with this solution is I'm worried we'd be constantly up and down 2 flights of stairs to the baby's room. But we'd still have a guest room and would only have to buy one ikea closet, instead of 2.
So what would you do?
