This is the space for LO's birthday party. The theme is sunshine and it's perfect that the venue already has touches of yellow. I'm not sure how/what decorations we should do. We're doing some yarn pom pom flowers as the centerpieces for the tables (teaching my husband to make a flower and watching him be proud of his handiwork was cute).
How would you decorate?

I wouldn't decorate it that much since you got the pretty hanging lights. The centerpieces sound great, and i'd probably add a pennant banner, maybe some mylar balloons as well.

I love all of your ideas...that's the problem! haha. I can't do too much. I think I like the idea of a garland or a banner. Although the kiddies in attendance would probably love the balloons.

Using the blank wall oposite the mirror to double the decor how about oversized photos of your LO or paper suns in vsrious sizes? The chalkboard at the end of the room is a great place to personalize if you can.
CamilleStyles.com threw a half birthday for her daughter. There's a cool pic of the balloons she used. White translucent wuth colorful tissue paper inside.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Awesome! I love how she decorated her daughter's seat with the pom poms--totally stealing that since we're already making a ton of those pom poms. I love the sun/photo idea!

I think so huge yellow balloons would be good and maybe a banner or bunting? Otherwise less is more in my opinion with those amazing lights!

And you could reuse it LO's room!

Perfect theme for that room. I think it would be cute to have a rainbow maybe like this one made of puffs? (Nothing else but the rainbow in the photo is cute, don't get me wrong)

@mrsjazz: Yeah that Half Birthday was sooo pretty. I am definitely using the kraft paper placemats bordered wuth colorful masking tape one day.
Are you planning to have any activities? Personalized crossword puzzles on yellow paper further carries the sunny theme.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: We are borrowing the doljabi/fortune-telling game as an activity. The party is only two hours so I think we'll do that, eating, presents, and birthday cake along with a DIY photobooth (large sunglasses and I haven't figured out what other item!")
@TurtleDoves: I like the idea of a rainbow. I feel like I don't have enough time to do all the work I've set up for myself with this party!

Because the space is already so cute you could probably easily get away with just some balloons and maybe flowers for some tables.

A huge mustache on a stick? A wig or some sort? An Elvis vest? A cowboy hat? Or a picture frame that they can hold like these (one looks pricey, the 2nd looks DIY)

What about some blue pompoms or poufs or balloons up in the ceiling to act as clouds? I think it would make the light shades look more like they were suns in the sky.

You can hang balloons on each chair back.
I think bunting might be nice, or tissue paper garlands,

Oh you can also craft some "yellow" felt poms and glue them on sticks, and use as cake topper, or for the cupcakes, donuts. And yellow stripped straws, and maybe a table runner. I think the lighting depicts sun already. again such a great space.
