DD is 17 months. At mealtimes, she often ends up throwing her food on the floor when she's had enough. When this happens, I scold her, tell her that we don't throw food on the floor, take away her plate and get her down from the high chair. But since she's doing it because she's "all done" I don't feel like she's getting the message that throwing her food on the floor is wrong. I almost feel like I'm rewarding her behavior by giving her what she wants.....out of the chair.
She also does it if there's something on her plate she doesn't want. When that's the case, I take her plate away and tell her she's all done.
How do you handle LO throwing food on the floor? How can I teach her to tell me she's "all done" instead of throwing the food on the floor?
