Does anyone else have this problem??
DD is aware that she's cute/silly and seems to know exactly what to say or do to make me crack up when I'm trying to correct her behavior. I try so hard to stay very serious or stern, but sometimes it's inevitable and I can't help but smile or laugh, which eggs her on. I know it's sending the wrong signal....

I don't really have a ton of advice since I'm not there yet, but my BFF will always turn away if she can't help but smile so that her daughter can't see it. Then once she's composed herself and got her serious face on, she turns back. Would that work?

Omg it's REALLY hard especially when they can actually reason and talk. When we're talking about something he did bad and he says something funny I can barely keep a straight face. I'm trying to think of an example...

No advice. Sometimes I just try to turn around or walk away for a sec.
Last night DS was banging a metal spoon against the table and chair at a restaurant and DH said, "please stop", he kept doing it, so DH said "stop" and took the spoon. DS had a pout for a second and then blew DH a kiss. It took everything in my power not to laugh, lol

I have to turn away until i can compose myself. And then I end up giving her big hugs and smothering her with kisses ;).

I'm horrible- I usually just end up laughing! It does help if I can sort of focus on something behind him to distract me from whatever he is saying/doing that is funny.

It's so hard!! I'm laughing just thinking about it.
Last night, my husband was sitting on the floor and our daughter started to stand up on her rocking chair. He told her to put her bottom on the seat and she turned towards him and waved and giggled! I laughed quietly from where I was in the kitchen and I heard him snort...but he did tell her to get down again and she did.
Man, it's so difficult!

I agree it's hard. I try and look away so LO doesn't see my smiling. They are sooo cute though! Discipline is not my strength, I leave that to daddy.

@mediagirl: It probably doesn't help that I just laughed at that, too.... haha!
