Need some advice - how do you push up babies bedtime? He's 8 weeks and right now he goes to sleep around 10:30-11pm and then he sleeps several 3 hour stretches until 9:30-10am. I would much rather him go down around 8pm and wake up earlier so I can have some time at night without him
Background: all day long he takes short naps. Usually around 20 minutes. I'm ecstatic if we get to 40 minutes! He is still taking naps up until 9pm or so. We have a bedtime routine (bath, diaper, pajamas, bottle) but even if I try that at 9pm he'll only sleep 45 minutes and then he's up again. I tried getting him up for the day earlier thinking he'd go down earlier - no dice, he just lost those two hours Any advice/help? Do I need to just stick with waking him for the day earlier and doing the bedtime routine earlier longer and eventually he'll get it?
He's 8 weeks, and he's been like this since 2 weeks. In a 24 hour period he's only getting an average of 13 hours total. Usually around 9-10 at night (with wake ups) and then another couple of hours with crappy naps. Is he still too young for any consistency? Or is there something I can do to move up bedtime?
