How will you teach your child about homeless people, severly handicapped people and others who are physically or mentally disadvantaged? We live near a city park and as the weather gets nicer the homeless population is becoming more apparent. Some of these people also seem to be a bit disturbed. I think my son is at the age (3) where he will start noticing people camped out in the park or saying/doing crazy things on the street. In any case, it has me thinking about how to explain these topics in a tactful and respectful way that is simple enough for him to understand.
