Well I've had an awful cough and sore throat for days I woke up this morning with a million times worse. I called and rescheduled my appt. I went in this morning. Got a prescription and a lab done although I can't use my prescription until I find out whether its positive or negative.

@court_schaeff: Husbands ruin all the fun! I took a test a few days ago (I am ~ 9 weeks pregnant) and my husband said he was finally putting his foot down and saying no more peeing on money.

I have a good feeling since your sister got a late positive!! Can't wait to hear your news.

My body is just so achey also. I've had 3 hour naps the past two days.

@court_schaeff: You can take Tylenol, Benadryl, cough drops, and load up on vitamin C. A lot of it depends on what your doctor okays. I got a horrible cold and mostly just slept + took cough drops.

@court_schaeff: What cycle day are you on? When did you stop birth control? Did you chart your BBT or use OPKs?

  18. court_schaeff

    grape / 99 posts

@pui: I took my last depo shot in April.

@court_schaeff: What have your cycles since then been like? Have you been charting/tracking O?

  20. court_schaeff

    grape / 99 posts

The past five cycles had been dead on. We have been ttc since October. I haven't tracked anything just DTD the whole week when o would occur.

@court_schaeff: How do you know when you O'd?

It's possible that you're just having a wonky cycle this time around. Ovulation could have happened later than it normally does (can happen because of stress, change in diet/exercise, travel, ectect) which is in turn delaying AF.

  23. court_schaeff

    grape / 99 posts

@pui: o occurs the week after AF so the whole week we DTD.

  24. LBee

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

@court_schaeff: @court_schaeff: That is very strange. Have you tried calling your gyno?

Did anything else look off on your blood test (assuming they ran a full panel)? Like maybe thyroid problem or something?

My first instinct was the same as @pui -- maybe your ovulation got delayed (easy things like taking a NSAID can delay it) and that's throwing it off.

  25. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@court_schaeff: O doesn't necessarily occur the week after AF, and even if it has for you that could change cycle to cycle... if you're not using OPKs or charting your BBT, it's impossible to know when you O'd, unfortunately.

  26. court_schaeff

    grape / 99 posts

@BakerBee: NSAID? They didnt run a full panel. Im waiting for my dr office to call me back with why this may be occurring. She may suggest me seeing a gyno.

  27. court_schaeff

    @pui: how do opks work?

  28. LBee

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

    @court_schaeff: NSAID's -- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ... like Aleve.

I would definitely start using opk's or charting to help with pinpointing ovulation. I thought I was ovulating like "everyone else" and found out we weren't even trying in the right time frame once I starting temping and taking opk's. I think a lot of women have experienced this!

  29. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@court_schaeff: To sum it up, you pee on them and they tell you how much LH (Luteinizing hormone) is in your system. If you get a line as dark or darker than the control line than that means your LH is surging. Since LH surges 24-48 hours before you O, you can more accurately see when you are about to O and BD appropriately!

  30. court_schaeff

    grape / 99 posts

@pui: @BakerBee: So I take them throughout the month to pin point o? Then does it usually stay the same month to month? Do you have to temp and use opks?

  31. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@court_schaeff: You don't need to temp to use OPKs. Lots of women use them stand alone! However, temping is the best way to confirm you actually O'd. OPKs predict O, but they don't pinpoint it exactly.

Basically you should start using OPKs a few days before when you think you are about to O and continue to use them everyday until you get a positive.

Unfortunately, O can still bounce around from cycle to cycle, but if you seem to be consistent after tracking/using OPKs a few times then you could start just assuming when O is happening.

@pui: This is so stressful. ): How come its so easy for some people. Haha. Pity party, party of one!

What brands are there? Price make a difference?

  33. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@court_schaeff: Lol tell me about it. It took us over a year to conceive... but I have PCOS and wonky cycles.

I used the cheapy brands and they worked fine. Some people like the (more expensive) digital "smiley" ones because they are easier to interpret. Once you know what a positive looks like though, it's really easy to tell if you have one or not.

@pui: are wondfos the opks? Or are those pregnancy test?

  37. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@court_schaeff: Uhmm I think from what I understand, wondfo is a brand that makes both OPKs and HPTs, but I'm not 100% sure!

  38. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@court_schaeff: Wondfo makes OPK and HPT

  39. tequiero21

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@court_schaeff: I'm one that used smiley faces. Hated trying to figure if the control line was darker, etc. I actually thought pregnancy tests were like opks and a light line meant I was not pregnant lol.

I'm driving myself nuts. My nipples have been sore for well over a week now. I just took off my bra for the night and I seriously almost cried because my breasts hurt so badly. It literally felt like boulders were released. Ive NEVER had that feeling before. I still have yet to start my period. After a negative HPT and blood test, Ive quit taking my prenatals for now.

If I don't start my period within the next or so, I want a ultrasound done. Its driving me nuts. Would this be a ridiculous request?
