yes its from the absorbent gel in the diapers. It says on the box that this is normal and not harmful but I quit using huggies after one day because I didnt like the getllumps on my baby's butt plus she broke out in bumps

@LAGS: yeah I used swaddlers for the first month then cloth diapers, then when she started daycare at 12 weeks we tried huggies for the first day and i hated it! so we are back to swaddlers. I took all the boxes of huggies back to the store. So many people use huggies I was so disappointed by them. Plus if you compare them side by side to swaddlers you can tell the diference just by feeling it

We used Huggies for awhile, and I never noticed the specks... that sounds icky, though We went back to Pampers b/c Huggies gave LO a diaper rash...

I use seventh generation and every once in a while she'll have little crystals on her booty too.

Yep. It's the stuff that soaks up the liquid in the diaper. It's called SAP, Sodium Polyacrylate.

I didn't get the specks with Huggies, but they leaked almost every time. Now Im back to swaddlers and don't think I'll ever change again!
