This may sound like a really stupid question but, why do you need a humidifier for your little one? What does it do that living in a humid climate does not do? When is it really needed, if at all?

Ours is necessary because it gets really dry in the winter here, and it's also our white noise!

If it doesn't get that dry where you are then I don't think you need one. It is humid in the summers here but really dry in the winter.

I got one because NYC and more specifically our apartment building is extremely dry.

We only used it when our LO was an infant. And now, we use it when he's sick. I don't know how big of a difference it makes though. I'm assuming it works since everyone recommends using one?

I only break ours out when one of us has the sniffles. And being in the desert, we are dry all the time.

I don't think it's necessary. They're a pain in the butt to clean!

The central air in our home sometimes dries out the air. And hubs and I both find having a humidifier in our room helps us to feel better in the mornings, so we'll probably get one for baby too.

We use one in the winter because our heat really dries the air out, but we also use it when shes stuffy or has a cold. It helps immensely during that time, Especially wiht some eucalyptus oil in there

We use it in the winter when the heat is on, and if LO has a cold.

We haven't used ours with our baby yet, but we definitely will in the winter when it's dry. I also plan to use it if she's at all congested.
