I really try not to toot my own horn much, but I am really proud of the milestone I just reached so I wanted to share. My son turned one last Thursday, and I was able to nurse him without supplementing the whole year! I was incredibly ambivalent about breastfeeding during pregnancy, but figured I'd give it a go and see what happened. It wasn't an easy start-a traumatic birth that led to a (luckily brief!) NICU stay, and we had to use a nipple shield for two months because we had latch issues. I first told myself to try and make it to six weeks. Then 3 months. Then 6 months...and here we are.

As we start the weaning process, I wanted to share how grateful I am to this community for your support. Having the archives to read through to see what was normal and not normal, the ability to ask questions, or just to know that someone else was going through it made a huge difference to me while I was "in the trenches." Thank you, bees! Here's to reaching your baby-feeding goals, no matter what they are!

**Also, for bees that run-I was able to train for and complete my first marathon while still maintaining my milk supply, so feel free to reach out to me if you have questions about exercising and nursing!
