Does anyone else feel like you can't get work done because you have to pump at work? I needed to talk to my assistant principal about a student but I needed to pump during my lunch. I wouldn't have enough time if I went up to the main office. I feel like I'm not doing my job well enough.

Yes!! I hated that feeling. There were times when I had to suffer through and miss a pumping session because I just needed to work.

I'm a teacher too and I feel the same way. I have such limited time without children in the classroom and I hate to "waste" it pumping, especially because I want to get my prep work done during the day so I can get home to LO. It's so hard to juggle!

Yes! Which is one reason that I am now just nursing morning and night.

Pumping during prep times as a teacher is tough! I used to pump 20 min at lunch, 20 at prep time, and 20 after school. I was a right pain in the ass for people trying to schedule meetings with me.
BUT, pumping was/is important to me. I'm allowed by law to do it. So, when my principal set a mandatory meeting during my pumping time (which I cleared with her when I came back to work) I said yes to the meeting and asked for someone to cover my class at a different point in the day to pump. People were annoyed with me, my principal was ticked sometimes, but I don't really care. The one year of pumping is a small blip in my career and my students never suffered.
The bright side? As your baby grows, pumping will take less of your time. Now I can pump on the drive to & from work and only need 1 session during the school day! And people think I'm super flexible his year

ANother teacher here and I feel the same way! I have to pump on my lunch and during prep ... I feel like I'm always behind on talking to/meeting with someone! and forget getting up to my mailbox ... thankfully coworkers help me out with stuff like that.
Pumping is incredibly important to me, but I'm also counting down the days until I can rejoin the rest of the world at lunch!
