We had blinds installed in our new to us home yesterday. Things are going from bad to worse. Our three day blinds took over 30 days, one set couldn't be installed because it didn't fit. Another fits terribly. They all rub in the windows. The blinds each take 30 seconds to open. That is a long long time. They did not tell me about that ahead of time. That means it takes about 6 minutes to open or close the blinds around the house. Which means we'll never open the blinds if that doesn't change. I feel like I ruined my house and lost confidence in our other home decisions.
However I'm more pissed about all the safety hazards for LO. The installer left screws on the floor in every room. I guess he just threw them down whereever he pleased. WTF? I hope I got them all. This morning I found paint chips in LO's crib. I didn't think about paint chips until I saw them (I wasn't there for the installation). The crib isnt on the same wall as the window. Couldn't the installer give DH the heads up that he might want to move or cover the crib? In hindsight it seems obvious and I'll definitely not let that happen again but I feel so awful for not catching that.
I'm really frustrated with this company that told me how important baby safety is. What a bunch of BS. Their "stylist" casually mentioned that she lost her pen cap "somewhere" in my house when she came to measure. That should have been a huge clue. I hunted for that thing for an hour.
An hour and a half until their customer service line opens up...
I guess this is home ownership.
