And my finger is at least two inches wide right now. It is sooooooo swollen, and turning blue-ish!!
Do you react strongly to bee stings? Last time I got stung, I ended up with a nine-inch bruise across my leg and I threw up a few times after getting stung. My body doesn't like bee stings.

The last time I was stung was when I was little...and it was a finger as well. My entire hand blew up to twice the size of my other hand! Bees don't like me either! Knock on wood...I've been lucky enough to have not been stung since.

@sorrycharlie: I was thinking the same thing . . . I would definitely get it checked out (sometimes reactions can become more potent with subsequent exposures).

@sorrycharlie: I always thought I was since I have always reacted very strongly (my mom is extremely allergic), but everyone told me that throwing up and swelling didn't mean I was allergic....I was only allergic if my throat swelled!

I got stung in Costa Rica on our honeymoon for the first time! I cried! lol. it wasn't that bad though, but it was also on my finger and scared me!

Yikes! Is Benadryl considered safe during pregnancy? If so, you should take some to minimize swelling and other reactions. You can still be allergic (I think) without having a full on anaphylactic reaction. Plus, allergic reactions can get worse with repeated exposure.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: my husband is allergic - but his throat has never swelled (I don't think), but like @MsLipGloss said, the first time he was stung he was fine (as a child) - second time, some swelling, third time (a couple years ago!) LOT of swelling. we don't have an epi pen or anything but I make him avoid bees like the plague!

I have a similar reaction but have never been given an epi pen even though I have gone to the ER for swelling and severe reactions (where they inject me ASAP). Good luck!
