Let's do a poll... what's your take on the term BD (short for Baby Dance, aka sexy time, just kidding let's call it what it is: copulation).

Can I change my vote? I voted for prefer BD but I really don't really care what others use. For myself, I like to use BD.

I voted for don't really care, but it makes me giggle a little every time someone says it. I had to explain what it means to DH, he thinks it's amazingly hilarious.

Doesn't matter to me, I'm familiar with it called BD in plenty of other sites and books too.
We were joking around recently about Cam's concept-aversary. We were trying to decide what to call it- Happy Meiosis Day, Happy Zygote Day?

@Penny Lane: the ridiculous thing is that we had to go and look up fertilization to check if our terminology was correct from college biology and reproduction.

Just type sex - it is only one extra letter and easier than using caps.

I always thought it meant "boogie down", like a slang for sex. Oh well, I'll probalby keep thinking it means that instead of baby dance.

@crash806: HAHAHA to the boogie down!
I'm not a fan of BD. Just call it what it is!

@crash806: Haha, boogie down... awesome!
I did a Google and found someone else that used BD as boogie down... you're not the only one!

I really just don't like it. What's so wrong with saying sex? We had sex.

Kind of hate it but handy if using a work computer!
Now boogie down on the other hand, I am totally loving! Henceforth and forthwith bd shall refer to boogie down.

BD is just shorter to type than "had sex". And with an iPhone constantly making mistakes, shorter is better for me.
Having said that, write whatever you want. You can also be like hubs and call it "coitus", ala Sheldon Cooper.

I don't like it. But I know I've used it in a title before.

Wow. First time I heard of others hating it.LOL THe website I was on when I was pregnant was full of it. Doesn't bother me though.

I don't care about it. Some of my non-HB friends LOVE the term and think it's cute.

I don't really care for it, but I'd rather write "BD" then "having sex." Makes life easier.

I really don't like it. Come to think of it, I really don't like to read *making love* either. I prefer sex.

I don't care what others do, but personally I think the term baby dance is really dumb. We don't have to have a cutsie term for everything!

I don't really care either way. When we first started TTC I thought it was weird but as I spent more (and more and more) time on the TTC boards I got used to it and end up using it just because it's the norm. I'm the same way with DH, used to hate it but everyone using it kind of wore off on me!

indifferent. I don't get what the big deal is, I don't care. I don't have feelings about it either way. I usually refer to it as intimate time, sexy time or just sex.

I don't mind when others use it. I know what it means, unlike some baby board terms that are super confusing, so I'm cool with it. But personally, I don't think I would ever use it. Too cutesy for me. Though the "boogie down" definition makes it much more palatable!

LOATHE this term. HATE HATE HATE. It sounds so cutesy. Sex is anything but cutesy, and although I know we sometimes do it trying to make a baby, I prefer not to make it all about that.
Also, it reminds me of Ally McBeal. (The dancing baby, which is not sexy at all.)

@sloaneandpuffy: I was going to use caps to express my hatred, but you beat me to it
apricot / 302 posts
I am not a fan for sure. We're all adults, so I'm all for saying sex.
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
I don't like it, not because it's not the grown up name for sex, just because I think it sounds silly and sometimes people use it in the context of a really serious statement and it just always sounds off to me..but even though I voted that I don't really like it, can ignore it, so I guess I also don't really care..
